Cathay Pacific May figures tumble

WEAKER demand has translated into a 13 per cent drop in cargo tonnage transported this May over last year for Cathay Pacific.
Cathay and its subsidiary Hong Kong Dragon Airlines, carried 138,095 metric tonnes of cargo during the month.
“In May the market remained quiet and well below the strong May 2010 result when restocking of inventories remained in full swing," Cathay Pacific general manager cargo sales and marketing James Woodrow said.
