Chinese Globelink buys UK’s CBI

GLOBELINK China Logistics has bought Manchester-based CBI Global Freight Management as part of the company’s expansion into the UK.

Globelink chief executive officer, Soloman Cai, has also signed a three-year lease on a double office suite at the World Freight Terminal at Manchester Airport, which the company moved in to on 6 September, 2010.

Nigel Sleigh (right), managing director of CBI, said: “The acquisition of our company by one of the world’s foremost logistics companies will ensure we can continue to maintain our growth in the Far East and also worldwide due to Globelink China’s extensive Agency network. The developments in the UK follow a similar expansion in the US.

CBI Global Freight Management will eventually be re-branded to Uni Logistics, a subsidiary of Globelink China Logistics Group, dealing with all aspects of international freight forwarding.
