Crystal Cargo extends MD-11F contract with World

ETIHAD Crystal Cargo has extended a contract with World Airways to provide two MD-11 cargo aircraft into 2011. The freighters will continue to operate on scheduled routes to Europe, Asia and Africa.

World Airways has provided Etihad Crystal Cargo with international MD-11 cargo services since 2007.

Etihad introduced all-cargo services in February 2005 and is currently operating a fleet of regional freighter aircraft, two Airbus A300-600RFs and its first A330-200F, which is started scheduled services with at the beginning of September between Abu Dhabi airport and Tripoli (Libya). As well as Tripoli, it will operate to Hann, Beijing, Milan and N’Djamena.

Roy Kinnear, executive vice-president Etihad Crystal Cargo, said the new aircraft was a key part of the airline’s freighter fleet.
