Damco responds to Zhengzhou growth

Also responding to the commercial shift from China’s coastal areas to well-connected inland hubs, Maersk forwarding and logistics unit Damco has opened a new commercial office in Zhengzhou, focused on electronics exports.
"Zhengzhou has become a very important multimodal hub for Damco, with its strategic location, well-connected transportation network and advanced infrastructure," said East and Central China cluster manager Caroline Wu.
"In the past few years we have seen more and more customers, namely technology companies, moving away from the more expensive coastal areas to Central China, and Zhengzhou is among their top choices," she said.
Last year, 40 per cent of Damco’s air freight volume in Central China was shipped from Zhengzhou.
