DB Schenker’s South Korea healthcare bid

AS PART of a plan to build global supply chain competence in the healthcare market, logistics giant DB Schenker has opened a new logistics centre in South Korea.
The 6,100-sq m facility, located in Gunpo, near Seoul, is fully equipped for healthcare operations, including a cold storage range of 2-8°C and 15-25°C products, and specialised vaults for sensitive pharma products, such as psychotropic and radioactive items.
The new centre is one of 26 such contract logistics sites in 15 countries.
The German company’s global healthcare logistics network is being expanded continuously with other hubs newly opened in India and the Philippines, as well as planned key additions in countries including Singapore, Sweden, Australia and The Netherlands.
“Healthcare logistics is more than just moving boxes. It is a critical part of our job to deliver safe, effective healthcare products to save lives,” says Peter Logan, vice-president of healthcare at DB Schenker.
