Dimerco’s cargo venture linking Vatry to Pudong

MOVING 100 tonnes of cargo from a French regional exporter to a consignee in distant China is clearly a job for a specialist.
Dimerco Express Group, the Taiwan-based global logistics service provider, has successfully completed what it describes as ‘a remarkable cargo charter project’, linking France’s Vatry Airport to Shanghai’s Pudong Airport in China and beyond.
“This cooperation between Dimerco Express Netherlands and Dimerco International Transportation (Shanghai) marks a significant milestone in the company’s 42-year history, and further demonstrates Dimerco’s integrated capabilities and strengths in handling international logistics,” says a spokesperson.
The successful project has also given Dimerco more confidence in its ability to offer transnational cargo charter operations of this type.
Detailed plans were created within a four-month lead-time to smooth the project flow.
They included the search for a suitable cargo aircraft with available flight dates, and obtaining approvals and payments of landing rights and royalties at both destinations.
Dimerco then co-ordinated comprehensive road traffic arrangements – for the journeys before and after loading – plus complex customs and transit formalities in China and the application of local road permits.
On arrival at Shanghai’s Pudong Airport, the 96-tonne shipment was unloaded from a giant Antonov freighter and, after on-site customs inspection, was released and immediately sent by road to its new Chinese owners.
