Egypt draws in IJS Global

IJS Global has expanded into Egypt. According to Giorgio Laccona, president and chief executive officer this is due to the Egyptian economy growing at 4.3 per cent in the first quarter, driven by construction, telecoms and transportation.

The economy of the most populous Arab country has proved more resilient to the global recession than many economists had expected.

According to Luciano Vladimir, general manager of IJS Global Cairo, the government now forecasts growth of between four per cent and four and a half per cent in the fiscal year through June, compared with the four per cent forecast last month. He says that IJS Global has the air and ocean transportation networks in place to support this activity.

“The recent opening of IJS Global Cairo and its continued expansion demonstrates IJS’s commitment to serve the logistics needs of the Egyptian market,” said Sjoerd van Loon, president and chief executive officer Europe, Middle East and Africa (right).

“With the extensive IJS Global operating network and our local representation, IJS Egypt is well positioned to provide consistent and highly effective innovative solutions that deliver service excellence while reducing total supply chain costs for customers.”
