Emirates sees potential in Malta

EMIRATES SkyCargo apparently sees strong growth potential for airfreight in Malta.

According to Ram Menen, divisional senior vice-president, cargo, at Emirates Airline said: “We see a lot of opportunities here. Every government that wants to have an export-based economy must allow capacity in. In Malta, 90 per cent of the cargo travels through passenger aircraft bellies. That belly capacity is extremely important for the country.”

“A country’s success depends on its logistics infrastructure, both internal and external. People often ignore road transportation, but that is extremely critical for us. All these factors are greenfield so whatever is needed to optimise commercial activity can be done.”
