Eurozone crisis crippling cargo at UK airports

THE EUROZONE economic slump is hitting UK airports hard, with cargo volumes from crisis-hit countries dwindling, says BAA’s boss.
Colin Matthews, chief executive officer of the airport operator, states: “The impact of the eurozone crisis is still being felt with reduced cargo traffic.”
BAA, owned by Spanish infrastructure group Ferrovial, reveals freight traffic fell 2.4 per cent across its airports in May and was down 3.8 per cent at Heathrow.
