FAA fines SkyWest for cargo violations

THE Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has fined SkyWest Airlines US$220,000 for alleged cargo violations.

The FAA claims SkyWest failed to document heavy cargo and luggage on five flights between 21 April and 25 May 2010, resulting in incorrect weight and balance data on the aircraft.

The Utah-based airline has 30 days to respond.
