Global economy not all doom and gloom

Successful air cargo operators stand to benefit from the global economic turmoil, so says a logistics analyst.

Charles de Trenck of Transport Trackers, a Hong Kong-based economic analysis house specialising in the logistics sector, said that while 2009 and some of 2010 will be economically hard that the market afterwards will bounce back and be more rational allowing for exploitation by the survivors.

“People forget to track deflation,” he said “as this could soften the blow of declining trade by value”.

The casualties will be those companies that have overpaid for assets while those with cheap assets will survive to find the market of 2011 with less capacity and rising demand.
