HNA to launch Turkish cargo business

HAINAN Airlines’ flagship company HNA Group is branching out to Turkey thanks to an investment partnership with Istanbul cargo player ACT Airlines.

HNA’s 747 freighters will become the first cargo jumbos to start operating in Turkey in cooperation with ACT. The Turkish company currently operates with A300 aircraft.

In 2010 HNA acquired an aircraft maintenance facility at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport with Bravia Investment from New York (US).

ACT, which carried equipment from the UK to Afghanistan for the military, currently dedicates its aircraft to DHL and Lufthansa.
