IAG Cargo's Dreamliner service to Texas
IAG Cargo will be offering cargo capacity on a brand new, widebodied aircraft service from London Heathrow to Austin, Texas, from March of next year.
The combined freight business of British Airways and Iberia, IAG will offer five flights a week to Austin before moving to daily flights from May 3.
It will be the only carrier offering a direct flight between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and London Heathrow.
“This underlines the fact that IAG Cargo is being more competitive than ever and is really focusing on delivering the shipping options our customers require,” enthuses David Shepherd, head of commercial at IAG Cargo.
The route will be serviced by the new B787 Dreamliner, which has been optimised for bellyhold cargo, with air conditioning in the forward hold and heating in the rear.
“The service will benefit the hi-tech trade flows from Austin’s ‘Silicon Hills’, supported by IAG Cargo’s express product Prioritise and its high security service, Secure,” says a statement.
The new route will also attract air cargo traffic from Mexico.
