Jettainer to take over ULD management for Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines has appointed Jettainer as the new service provider to manage its unit load devices (ULDs) and pallets from the Spring of 2017.
Belgium’s largest airline currently outsources its ULD management to another provider and is now switching to Jettainer, which has set up a ULD controller at Brussels Airport, alongside a Jettainer ground handling support agent who will control and monitor the ground procedures.
The Lufthansa subsidiary will look after a fleet of around 1,000 ULDs for Brussels Airlines over the next five years and plans to start operating in the spring of 2017. Lufthansa Group will have 100% ownership of Brussels Airlines by early 2017 after acquiring 55% of the stock it did not already own.
“Thanks to the new partnership with the world’s leading ULD specialist, we’ll now be provided with innovative and modern containers and pallets even more efficiently,” said Pieter Huyghens, cargo operations manager at Brussels Airlines.
“This does not only represent financial savings, but it also supports our efforts to offer more efficient air services and to reduce our ecological footprint.”
