Kuehne + Nagel fortify presence in Oman

KUEHNE + NAGEL (K+N) has consolidated its business in Oman by acquiring more than 70 per cent of the shares of Universal Freight Services from the Khimji Ramdas Group. 

The new Muscat-based venture called K+N LCC will provide local and international customers with integrated information technology (IT)-based logistics solutions, says the global company.

The Khimji Ramdas group has been the logistics giant’s sales agent in Oman since 1999.

Werner Kleymann, regional manager for the Middle East, Turkey and Central Asia, enthuses: “This acquisition fits our objective to significantly expand our activities in Oman, one of the region’s key growth markets. The establishment of a Kuehne + Nagel company underlines the exciting business opportunities in the Sultanate in light of the government’s economic development strategy as well as increasing investments from the public and private sector.”
