Latin markets lift LAN traffic

A prosperous Latin American import market has resulted in Chile’s LAN Cargo recording a 12.6 per cent traffic boost during January.

The arrival of two new 767 freighters between November and December 2010 also helped traffic figures.

Additionally in June 2010 LAN Cargo launched domestic cargo operations in Brazil to Recife and Fortaleza through its affiliate ABSA. In line with higher demand, capacity grew 13.9 per cent. As a result, the cargo load factor decreased 0.7 per cent to 66.4.

LAN Cargo and its respective affiliates have a fleet of 14 dedicated freighters.
