Lufthansa Cargo cuts fuel surcharge

IT has been over two years since Lufthansa Cargo reduced its fuel surcharge, and now the carrier will lower the charge from 30 May due to lower crude oil prices.

From the end of May the unit will charge €1.10 (US$1.56) per kilogram, down from the €1.15/kg ($1.63) introduced on 10 May.

In March 2009 Lufthansa cut its fuel surcharge before oil prices surged. Crude prices closed at $97 on 17 May, the lowest since 22 February.
