Midex cleared for UAE operations

MIDEX Airlines has been cleared for resumption of freight operations in the UAE. The cargo carrier had a six-week suspension of its air operators’ certificate due to, amongst other minor irregularities, having certain key posts unfilled.

The suspension cost the company, which operates from Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain airports, more than US$20 million of revenues.?

“We’re stronger now since we comply with all the requirements of the UAE’s [General Civil Aviation Authority],” said Issam Khairallah, president. Khairallah says that all of the company’s aircraft are now booked up for the next six months.

Midex has seven freighters based in the UAE, with two more 747s scheduled to arrive in the next two months.
