New Boeing models enter final testing

BOEING’S 747-8 freighter – RC521– has completed its second test flight landing successfully. It will now be stationed in Palmdale, California for most of its remaining test flights.

Two more will be flown there over the next few weeks.

Boeing estimates the first delivery – to Cargolux – will go ahead in the last quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, the 787 Dreamliner has begun a series of extreme-weather tests at Valparaiso, Florida.

“We have Dreamliner customers who will operate the 787 in a wide variety of environments throughout the world,” said Scott Fancher, vice-president and general manager of the 787 programme for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “This testing is about ensuring that the airplane meets the expectations of our customers.”
