New Nairobi handler picks Carroll to head up sales

TRANSGLOBAL Cargo Centre – the new on-airport perishables handler at Kenya’s Nairobi Airport – has appointed Mark Carroll (right) its general manager, sales and marketing.

Carroll’s most recent post was acting cargo manager UK for Qatar Airways.

In his new position at Transglobal Cargo Centre, Carroll will spearhead global sales to airlines and freight forwarders, based from offices close to London Heathrow Airport.

Carroll said: “This is a tremendously exciting opportunity. The new facility at Nairobi is state-of-the-art, represents an investment of almost £11 million, and brings new standards to cargo handling at the airport. This is the only fully-mechanised ETV-based cool chain facility in Africa, and would not be out of place in London or any other major world hub.”
