New road to air-cargo facility at Biloxi

Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport has given the go ahead to build a new road that will link the nearby highway to the new air-cargo facility. At present cargo has to be trucked through residential areas but the new extension will provide a more direct link.

The US$3 million project should be complete before the end of 2009.

“This is a great success for the airport and the city,” said Mayor Brent Warr. “It will not only relieve some of the traffic in the surrounding areas, but it will also enhance the operations and capabilities of the air-cargo facility.”
