New security regulations ‘burdensome’

THE United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has proposed numerous and significant changes to the security programmes for US and non-US all cargo airlines.
The programmes affect cargo transported within, from, and into the United States. After reviewing both security programmes,TIACA has filed official comments with the TSA, noting that the revisions add some burdensome new requirements and do not reflect the risk-based approach to security procedures recommended and supported by industry.
In addition, TIACA has commented on inconsistencies in the programmes and suggests that the TSA seeks further input from all-cargo airlines, before introducing any changes.
