Nord-Flyg takes on first Q400

SWEDISH cargo carrier Nord-Flyg, will be the first to operate the New Generation Bombardier Dash 8-Q400PF environmentally friendly twin turboprop.

Capable of carrying up to 40 EU pallets in the 85 cubic metre interior, Nord-Flyg expects their first aircraft to enter into service in September 2008. The ex-SAS aircraft, will have the cargo conversion installed and interior modified into E-class by Cascade Aerospace in Vancouver, Canada. A LOI has been signed for the acquisition of more aircraft.

Nord-Flyg is convinced that this New Generation Turbo Prop, will be welcomed by the industry with its ability to perform at Jet-speeds on regional routes in the segment of 9,500 kg.

The Q400PF is the only aircraft which is available now to modernise the present Turbo Prop cargo fleets in Europe (average age well over 20 years), and at the same time meet the future environmental demands from the officials and the inhabitants around the airfields in Europe.
