Uli Ogiermann, chief cargo officer for Qatar Airway Cargo, answers:
"I think we, as an industry, have to demonstrate that we can now produce real added value for our customers. Generally speaking, those organisations that will suffer are the ones that are not able to react to [new] demands.
There will be huge changes taking place in the markets [over the next five years] and the only edge you have is to have your cost situation under control. It’s the only thing that gives you some flexibility, because you have to be able to react to all the market fluctuations. So, I think cost-leadership will be imminently important in the air cargo industry in the coming years."
