Aer Lingus Cargo has announced Peter O’Neill (pictured) as its director cargo, replacing Remo Hanselmann, who will return to Zurich (Switzerland) to join the Hans Mars communications agency. Peter joined Aer Lingus in 1989 and has held senior management positions on both the commercial and operational side of the business.

RICHARD Thompson has been appointed Air Charter Service’s cargo sales director in New York (US), replacing Stuart Smith who has moved to the company’s Paris (France) operation. With the opening of its Los Angeles (US) office this week, Air Charter Service now has 14 offices worldwide.

New heads of sea and airfreight at Swiss logistics group Kuehne + Nagel will start their positions soon. Tim Scharwath will take over at air logistics, succeeding Peter Ulber who headed both units. Scharwath joined the group in 1992 and was promoted regional director north west Europe in 2009.

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has a new president and
national chairman. Steve Parker, head customs and brokerage – Europe, of DHL Global Forwarding, is the new BIFA national chairman. Peter Bottomley, a member of parliament, is BIFA’s new president, succeeding Lord Fowler.

Iyad Moussa Abu Sabha has been appointed as country general manager for TNT Express Kuwait. He has worked at the company for nine years.
