Premier air cargo event arrives in Bangkok

OVER 2,000 international cargo executives will descend on the Bangkok Convention Centre and Centara Grand Hotel next week for one of the most important events in the industry’s calendar.

For the first time, the World Air Cargo Event (WACE) comes to Bangkok and features an extensive exhibition, a two-day conference and numerous networking opportunities – including a grand gala night, featuring light shows and music entertainment. Organised by UK-based Air Cargo Media, owner of the world’s leading airfreight publication Air Cargo News, WACE has previously been held in Dubai and Bahrain.

Running from 18-20 February, WACE is being held in conjunction with the WCA Family’s week-long networking event. The Bangkok-based WCA Family has grown into the world’s largest logistics network, with over 2,000 members based around the world.

During WACE high-ranking executives representing airlines, airports, freight forwarders, technology providers and many other segments of the market, will spend two days debating and formulating future strategies that will help the sector recover from the current global downturn.

In addition, a host of globally-recognised companies have booked impressive exhibition stands at the event including: Boeing, Etihad Airways, United Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines and EADS, alongside Thailand’s own Thai Airways International and the Thai Airfreight Forwarders Association.

Organiser and chief executive officer of Air Cargo Media, Ray Crane, said: “We are delighted to bring this prestigious event to Bangkok for the first time. Thailand is growing in importance as a major logistics hub for the whole of south-east Asia and this event will help bring the world’s attention to what Bangkok has to offer the industry.”

WACE will be opened on 18 February by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Transport for Thailand, Maitree Srinarawat.

Entrance to the exhibition is free to visitors involved in the logistics industry.
