Raya gets new chief executive

Asian cargo airline Raya Airways has announced the appointment of Lee Shashitheren as its new executive director and chief executive.
Lee, former commercial director of Raya Airways, has more than 20 years’ experience in the cargo airline business and takes over from the former managing director Mohamad Najib Ishak, who resigned on April 1.
Lee started his career in 1995 with Singapore Airlines Cargo and went on to hold positions in IATA and Qatar Airways.
Raya chairman Kamaruzaman Mohamath Shariff said, “The Board of Directors unanimously agreed and supported the appointment of Mr Lee due to his excellent track record and invaluable experience garnered in the industry, spanning over two decades, coupled with his strong networks in the industry, which makes him the most suitable and prominent candidate.
“Our clients, stakeholders and industry peers also supports this and that provides a smooth transition into his new post.”

Raya provides scheduled and express delivery, aircraft charters, ground handling, warehousing, trucking connections, and maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
