Rus Aviation orders A300-600 freighter

RUS Aviation has ordered a passenger-to-freighter conversion of an Airbus A300-600 from EADS. The contract includes another conversion and is part of a multi-million dollar fleet rollover programme for the Middle Eastern company.

The first freighter, formerly operated by a US airline, has already arrived at EADS’ Dresden (Germany) facility and will enter the conversion line in mid-September 2010.

Saleh al Aroud, owner of Rus Aviation said: “This is one of several aircraft planned to operate for Iraqi Airways on routes between Asia, Europe and Africa. As we believe in the full recovery and a strong future of the air cargo business, we are very interested in expanding our fleet with further Airbus freighter conversions in the long-range segment.”
