Schaecher appointed as DHLs new global head of airfreight

AIR Cargo News has learned that Michael Schaecher has been promoted as new global head of airfreight for DHL Global Forwarding. He replaces Victor Mok, who it is believed will return to his position as senior vice-president for DHL in China.

The position as head of global airfreight has changed hands twice in the space of 12 months, with Tony Vidmar being replaced by Mok in mid 2008.

Industry sources say that the latest change was provoked by Mok’s preference to stay in Asia, rather than move to DHL’s headquarters in Germany.

DHL were unable to provide comment or confirmation of the new appointments.
