Schenker augments UK cargo hub

THE UK arm of global logistics services provider DB Schenker Logistics, has completed a major re-investment programme at one of the company’s main UK land hubs.
The contract logistics expansion is all part of the company’s growth strategy for the huge catchment area in the UK’s Midlands region.
From a 7,960-sq m facility, which has 21 loading bays and what is described as state-of-the-art security systems, DB Schenker now offers daily departures to and from all European destinations via its extensive land network which consists of 730 locations in 36 countries, as well as air and ocean freight services offered from the Nuneaton branch.
Helgi Ingolfsson, chief executive of Schenker in the UK, states: “We have aggressive growth plans and this expansion will enable us to handle a vastly increased volume of cargo. 
“We have a large team based here, with vast knowledge. We also have many value-added e-business services we can offer clients to improve the efficiency of their supply chain.”
