Scholten merges forwarding units into Fast Logistics

Dubai-based Fast Logistic Solutions (FLS) Group, headed by ex-Saudia Cargo executive Peter Scholten, is merging its Fast Forward Cargo and First Priority Cargo forwarding arms into a single business from July.
The new entity, Fast Logistics, will have annual airfreight volumes of 50,000 tons and employ 600 staff in a network of 40 offices across the UAE, Africa and Asia.
In the UAE, Fast Logistics will have 25,000 sq m of warehouse facilities, while a new head office for its international activities will be opened in Bangalore, India. All international freight forwarding offices will be rebranded to Fast Logistics.
Scholten, FLS Group chief executive, said: "In less than three years Fast Forward and First Priority have successfully grown to market leaders in the emerging UAE trader market to Africa and Indian Sub-Continent.
“By merging the two companies into Fast Logistics we will eliminate internal competition and further strengthen our market position. With the new international division headquartered in Bangalore we aim at expanding our office network in India, Saudi Arabia and several countries in Africa."
