TIACA looks to LatAm supply chains

Regulatory issues and supply chain strategies for Latin America and the Caribbean will be on the agenda at TIACA’s executive summit and annual general meeting in May.
The Miami meeting – May 19-21 – will also feature interactive workshops on global airfreight issues such as advanced data submission and lithium batteries.
“Understanding challenges as well as opportunities is key to developing and sustaining successful supply chains,” said Doug Brittin, TIACA secretary general.
“Our panels of experts will take an in-depth look at the Latin America market, but also lead discussion at our industry-specific workshops designed to help members address the broader global issues that affect them on a daily basis.”
Latin America topics will include a look at US and Mexico transborder trade, as well as making the Brazilian air cargo market more competitive, and the impact of advance data regimes on the region.
Neil Herrington, executive director, Americas, US Chamber of Commerce will give an overview of key US trade and business issues involving Latin America with a focus on infrastructure and growth opportunities.
TIACA’s workshops will cover the latest on lithium batteries, a look at trends and challenges for ground handlers, an update on advance data pilot schemes, and feedback on how the US’ new Customs electronic manifest will affect members.
“The executive summit and AGM provide an important opportunity for air freight supply chain executives to network with their peers and learn from the experts,” added Brittin.
“It is also a great opportunity for industry to speak to regulators with a common voice.”
