TSA’s Kelly dies

EDWARD Kelly, the head of the US Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) cargo division, has died.Kelly led the cargo security branch of TSA since September 2006 where he oversaw the implementation of the US’ controversially strict new cargo screening measures.“Ed had worked tirelessly developing programmes to implement the 9/11 Act mandate for screening of air cargo on passenger aircraft,” said Airports Council International-North America in a statement. “His efforts have significantly enhanced the level of air cargo security.”Kelly had originally worked at Emery Worldwide before moving to UPS when Emery was bought out.
