Turkish plane lands at wrong airport

A TURKISH Airlines 737-800 landed at the wrong airport in Tbilisi, Georgia. Flying from Istanbul, Turkey the plane landed at the Tbilisi Vaziani military airfield instead of its intended destination of Tbilisi’s Novo Alexeyevka Airport 14 kms away.

The airplane has been seized by the Georgian military and passengers and crew are being interrogated.

A replacement aircraft was dispatched to Tbilisi to perform the return flight and Georgian and Turkish Aviation Authorities have launched an investigation.
