VIDEO: Prime Air fuelled and ready to go for Amazon's US e-commerce bonanza

E-tailer Amazon’s Prime Air cargo planes are “fuelled and ready to support” Prime Day in the US in an air express debut for the leased freighter fleet.

Amazon is kicking off its third annual Prime Day six hours early this year – giving members 30 hours to shop, beginning at 9pm US ET today, Monday, July 10.

“Our teams have been working for months to source exciting and interesting deals. Our fulfillment centers are loaded with products, our operations associates are ready and our transportation partners around the world are excitedly waiting for the first Prime Day order,” said Greg Greeley, vice president, Amazon Prime.

The Prime Air freighter fleet of Boeing 767 freighters are leased from ATSG and Atlas Air in the US.

Amazon added: “Prime Air cargo planes are fuelled and ready to support Prime Day in the US for the first time.
