Vitoria attempts to emerge from the ‘perfect storm’

THE last calendar year was undoubtedly the toughest period for cargo in its history at Vitoria Airport. The combination of declining volumes and a Spanish economy seeming to be in freefall, left the airport with a host of challenges to overcome.

However, managing director of Vitoria Integrated Air Services (VIAS), Enrique Gutiérrez (right), believes that the signs for positive growth in 2010 are there and that the lost volumes are beginning to return.
