WFS signs North American contracts

WFS has won a contract to provide cargo handling services to US Airways in the carrier’s freight facility in Philadelphia (US).

Services include cargo warehousing, customer service and supply of the latest TSA-approved technology for X-ray and ETD cargo screening.

Philadelphia is the largest US Airways’ cargo hub in North America with a total annual throughput of 120,000 tonnes.

WFS has also gained a cargo handling contract from Icelandair at Washington Dulles Airport (US) and Halifax International Airport (Canada).

The airline commenced five 757 flights a week from Washington in May, which will operate through to mid-October. The contract gives WFS responsibility for passenger, ramp and cargo handling.
