12 / 05 / 2011
AIR cargo player Yangtze River Express will connect several destinations in China to Europe on a 747-400SF flying twice a week.
The freighter will take off from the Pudong International Airport in Shanghai (China) and makes stops in Chongqing (China), Moscow (Russia) and Luxembourg.
Chongqing airport’s international cargo transport volume soared 580 per cent year on the year to 18,000 tonnes in the first four months of this year due mostly to the boom of the IT industry. Currently, 80 per cent of cargo departures from the airport are IT products.
Jade Cargo and TNT Group opened cargo routes from Chongqing to Europe in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
In April Yangtze began operating a new route connecting Chongqing with Taipei (Taiwan) and Guangzhou (China).
