E-AWB use sees slight decline in February

Electronic air waybill (e-AWB) penetration of the market tailed off slightly in February, according to the latest IATA monthly report. The figure for the month was 0.3% down on January, according to the association’s latest figures.

eAWB volume in February was 639,419 while in January it was 639,540.

Nevertheless, IATA has set an ambitious target of 62% penetration of the total market by December this year, as against the 48.2% actually achieved in February. Penetration levels reached 48.5% in January this year.

However, there has been considerable progress since March 2016 and the penetration rate has risen steadily from the 37.2% achieved in that month.
