Unilode adds more Singapore space for ULD repairs

Unilode Aviation Solutions has moved its Singapore unit load device (ULD) and galley cart repair centre to larger premises nearby Changi Airfreight Centre.  

The new station includes a 800 sq m warehouse, 250 sq m office space and an extensive outside storage area.

It is certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to carry out ULD repairs for airlines based in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and the US, as well as by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).  

It can repair all certified ULDs, including main deck units, containers, pallets and horse stalls, along with inflight food service equipment.

Singapore Airlines Cargo is the main customer but the increased capacity will allow it to handle other carriers’ equipment, said Unilode.

Chief executive, Benoît Dumont, said: "Our new, conveniently located and spacious repair facility in Singapore allows us to offer our services to our expanding customer base in the Asia Pacific region … for both our ULD management and repair solutions.”

He added that Unilode is looking at a number of other strategic hubs in the region as airlines continued to outsource their ULD management and repair operations: “Singapore Airlines Cargo and Cathay Pacific Airways are our largest customers in Asia Pacific and we expect to grow our customer base with other major carriers next year."
