Mama Mia here we flow[er] again for Mother’s Day

LATAM Cargo transported more than 7,400 tons of fresh flowers from Latin America for International Mother’s Day on May 12 .

In the three weeks prior to Mother’s Day the demand for flowers increased by close to 90%,  marking the peak of the flower export season after Valentine’s Day.

LATAM Cargo carried more than 3,500 tons of flowers from Bogota and Medellin in Colombia, and more than 3,800 tons from Quito, the capital of Ecuador.

Roses, carnation, mixed bouquets and green foliage were the flowers most in demand with consumers in the US, Netherlands and Brazil.
