Heathrow releases August 2019 cargo figures

Today, London Heathrow, the UK capital’s busiest airport, revealed that in August 2019 it processed more than 126,864 metric tonnes of cargo.

The hub also reported that cargo traffic was down 9.9% in August 2019, compared with the same month in 2018.

Year to date, from January to August 2019, the airport processed 1,063,475 tonnes of cargo, which is 5.3% less than the same time period last year.

The performance at Heathrow is a reflection of cargo performance across the continent.

In its latest update, Airports Council International (ACI) Europe said that European hubs reported their largest percentage decline in seven years in July.
