Nippon Cargo Airlines to host cargo capacity on cargo.one platform

In a move towards digitisation, Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) will become the first Asian airline to partner with cargo.one to enable freight forwarders to book NCA’s maindeck capacities, around the clock, and receive instant confirmation.

Also, for the first time, cargo.one will be utilising the newly-developed ‘one.connect’, further simplifying its integration processes with airlines’ platforms.

one.connect is the result of continuous learning and technological requirements from past airline integrations, aggregated into a single standardized technology layer, that will enable connections to a large number of airline legacy systems in a simplified manner.

cargo.one has a user base of more than 300 freight forwarding companies and the partnership will provide European companies with better access NCA’s cargo capacities.

Moritz Claussen, managing director of cargo.one, said: “As cargo.one’s footprint continues to expand globally, we are very happy to welcome our first Asian partner on board.

“NCA’s maindeck capacities will further add to cargo.one’s attractiveness for freight forwarders, allowing us to increase demand on the platform which will, in turn, lead to more capacity distribution overall for those airlines partnering with cargo.one.”

Satoshi Shimura, vice president and head of business digitalization at NCA, commented: “Joining cargo.one is a logical step for us in executing our digital strategy. It will enhance our customers’ experience and help us reach new customer segments.”

NCA’s core cargo system, iCargo, will be integrated into cargo.one later this year. NCA’s capacities are expected to be launched on cargo.one in early 2020.
