Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has announced that it will convert up to three Boeing 737-800SF freighters for Aviation Holdings.

The first aircraft conversion (MSN 29916) will begin in June and will be carried out by China-based STAECO, an authorised AEI Conversion Center. The conversion will be the first time that a B737-800SF has been modified for AEI by STAECO.

Conversion start dates for the other two aircraft are currently under discussion.

AEI converted B737-800SF freighters offer a main deck payload of up to 52,700 lbs. (23,904 kg) and incorporate eleven full-height 88” x 125” container positions, as well as an additional position for an AEP/AEH.

The conversions also include new floor beams aft of the wing box, an 86” x 137” main cargo door with a single vent door system and a flexible ancra cargo loading system.

Additionally, AEI B737-800SF conversions feature a rigid 9g barrier net, up to five seats for crew, a galley and a lavatory.
