Blue Water Shipping charters Europe-China SAS Cargo flights

Blue Water Shipping has entered into a charter agreement with airline SAS Cargo providing a regular scheduled charter service for the shipper between Denmark and China.

Palle Kamstrup, global director for Blue Water’s Sea & Air divisions, explained: “It is a difficult situation for many of our customers, as transporting their goods either to or from China is very complicated.

“This goes for both import of vital supplies to the European health systems and import of goods to our regular commercial customers. But also on the export side, we see an increasing demand.

“Therefore, we have decided to invest in this temporary scheduled service.”

The first chartered flight took place on May 6.

The eastbound service departs from Copenhagen every Tuesday and Saturday, arriving in Shanghai the following day.

The westbound service departs from Shanghai each Wednesday and Sunday, arriving the same day in Copenhagen on the same day.

Road feeder services then distributes the cargo to its final destinations in both Europe and China.
