Airport Handling and cargo handler Beta Trans are teaming up at Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) to offer airlines at the airport a “one-stop shop” for freight services.

Airport Handling, which is a dnata joint venture, offers handling services at MXP, while Beta Trans handles over 300,000 tons of cargo annually in its facilities that cover a total area of over 100,000 sq m in Milan.

The two companies’ joint offering includes ramp and cargo handling, warehousing and road feeder services.

To make the arrangement work, the partners say they will integrate operational processes and functions.

“The enhanced cooperation will enable the companies to leverage synergies to further optimise their operations and service offering, and deliver world-class efficiency throughout the handling process,” the companies said in a press release.

The two companies’ investments in recent years include a 13,000 sq m warehouse, a 420 sq m CEIV-certified pharma facility, and “eco-efficient” ground support equipment such as cool dollies to maintain temperature while transporting cargo between the cargo warehouse and aircraft.
