WFS names UK commercial director of cargo and ground handling

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has appointed Jennifer Smith into the role of UK commercial director, cargo and ground handling.

Smith, who has 20 years of experience in the industry, has previously held cargo sales management positions at Continental Airlines, American Airlines and Etihad Airways. Her most recent role was regional cargo sales manager, UK and Europe, at Air New Zealand.

In her new role, Smith will be responsible for strengthening WFS’ existing client relationships, as well as leading the onboarding of its new airline customers.

Paul Carmody, managing director of UK cargo at WFS, commented: “Smith is a welcome addition to our leadership team in the UK and brings a strong customer perspective to our business and to the way we want to engage with, and support, our airline clients.

“After such an extremely challenging year for the aviation industry and its partners, it is more important than ever to provide a consistent business model that sustains growth, provides exemplary service, and reinforces our commitment to ‘best-in-class’ safety and security services.

“As we continue to invest in our UK operations, we are confident of securing new cargo and ground handling contracts as well as extending our existing airline agreements, and Jennifer will lead this growth.”

WFS operates at 12 airports in the UK and serves 30 airline clients including American Airlines, China Airlines, Etihad Airways, IAG, and Singapore Airlines.
