Ground handler Havaş receives GDP certification at Istanbul Airport

Ground handler Havaş, a subsidiary of TAV Airports and a member of Groupe ADP, has received EU Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification for its operations at Istanbul Airport.

The certification confirms the company’s capability of handling and transporting pharma goods — as well as cargo that requires cold storage such as perishables — at the Turkish airport.

Havaş’ general manager S. Mete Erna, commented: “The GDP certificate, which we have been granted for our warehouse in Istanbul, is an indicator that Havaş provides high-quality and safe service at international standards during the cargo operations regarding pharmaceuticals and perishable cargos, which require cold storage.

“We provide suitable conditions at every stage of the operation chain, including acceptance procedures, transfer between the warehouses, handling processes, for pharmaceuticals, perishable cargos such as medical products and food that require protection of the cold chain; and carry out storage and transportation processes with cutting-edge technological equipment.

“At our 10,000 sq m warehouse at Istanbul Airport, we have special, climate-controlled storage rooms and reefer trucks for perishable cargos.

“Focusing on customer satisfaction, we continue our efforts to improve our quality to a higher level.”
