ANA adds new China-Japan freighter service

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will deploy one of its freighters on a service between Beijing Capital International Airport and Tokyo Narita in part due to demand for computer parts.

The Tokyo-headquartered airline said that it would utilise a Boeing 767 freighter on the twice-weekly round-trip service that will begin on July 2.

The Boeing 767 freighter was selected in response to increasing e-commerce and demand for PC-related parts as well as other electronic components, the carrier said.

“We are excited to grow our cargo operations in China with the introduction of freighters to Beijing,” said Toshiaki Toyama, executive vice president of ANA and president of ANA Cargo.

“With supply chains under pressure due to unprecedented disruption, ANA will continue doing all it can to facilitate commerce and ensure that the global economy remains on track for recovery. If demand continues to grow, we are committed to remaining flexible in our approach, adjusting flight schedules and setting up charter flights in response to trends.”
