Pakistan-based ground services provider Gerry’s dnata has been awarded a multi-year contract by Gulf Air to carry out cargo handling at airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Faisalabad.

The handler said it has significantly invested in facilities, equipment, training and technology, while expanding its operations in Pakistan.

One example of the handler’s investment is its GDP-certified 72,000 sq m airfreight facility at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, which is equipped to process and store “all kinds of cargo”, including temperature-sensitive pharma goods.

Gerry’s dnata has also expanded its operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport with a new export cargo terminal, which has nearly tripled its cargo handling capacity in Lahore.

Syed Haris Raza, chief executive of Gerry’s dnata, commented: “We are proud to be the ground handler of choice for Gulf Air in Pakistan. We consistently invest in infrastructure, cutting-edge technologies and training to deliver the best possible services for our customers. Our new contract is a vote of confidence in our quality offering, and a testament to our team’s hard work and commitment to safety and service excellence. We look forward to a long-standing partnership with the airline.”

Gerry’s dnata has won 10 handling contracts over the last 18 months and now serves more than 30 airline customers at seven Pakistani airports.
